TILDA’S CREATIONS
A journey through artistic expression

RELAVENT BACKGROUND INFORMATION

In 1980 Tilda’s Creations started as home based garment alteration business. As a single parent and motivated to be home while daughters were young, took in basic sewing projects and over flow from local dry cleaners.

By 1990 Tilda’s Creations expanded to costume design and construction. Contracts included piece work for designers, private clients, theater companies and most interestingly battle reenactment uniforms dating back to the Civil War. Uniforms have been hired out for extras in several movies and were an integral part of The Battle of Gettysburg 100th anniversary.

Between 1990 - 2000 Costume design/construction morphed into Re-cycle, Re-use, Re-purpose. Using found linens and thrift shop items...pillows became the focus....All sizes great and small. Mostly as gifts but some for sale as well.

Finally, in 2010, Tilda’s Creations  combined the passion for sewing and collage to assemble some fabric art pieces and experimented with collage assembly to superimpose on to fabric. Keeping up with changing technology has been a thrill..

From 2010 till present, the focus is on repurpose of previously used fabrics and garments. The idea is to re-invent what already is available into new and innovative sewing projects. Teaching how to do this is the focus. Both fun and "green" My passion to help our environment has expressed itself in this manner. Join us in "fun shops" for it is not work at all when you create; using what you already have.
